De Nacht van de Geanimeerde Wansmaak conquers the country! At the invitation of the Holland Animation Film Festival horror- and cultexpert Jan Doense, also known as Mr. Horror, put together De Nacht van de Geanimeerde Wansmaak with collectionneur par excellence Michael Helmerhorst. At the HAFF 2010 the first edition could be admired, and now the three-hours lasting program goes on tour. A discovery through the dark crypts of the animated world cinema, full of dubious extracts and trailers of failed or otherwise the accepted views about good taste defying animated films. With eroticism, racism and slack-baked comic heroes; differing from a Russian version of Goofy till Captain America and Popeye. With very old porntoons, German sexploitation from the 70s, caricatures and stereotypes in the commercial cartoons, agit & antiprop, slack-baked ripoffs, artsy fartsy & underground clips and jerkey animation as added value of cheap produced live action. In short, films that ask for reanimation in a provocative program.

AMSTERDAM
The courses of 10 lectures are for people from different art disciplines. The workshop forms a start in which you get a first glance of the principles and the effects of animation. It is a good way to see if you want to do more with animation, for example go to an animation academy or use it in a project. Making an animated film can shed a new light on your work and can give you pleasure through the manual cut- and pastework.
We work with Windows and with Mac. You learn to know the whole film process, from script/storyboard till the final editing with sound and voices.

FRANCE
The holiday/animation week is for everybody, also for artists. On our wonderfull location in the tiny village of Acquet in the French Picardie (Northwest France) you can alternate the animation with a hiking or bicycle journey in the neighborhood or along the beach. It's a 4 hours drive from Utrecht.
