DECEMBER
DISTRIBUTION NEWS
Since November 15th the NIAf has 2 new films in distribution: ON THE WATER by Yi Zhao and VICTORY by Guusje Kaayk.
ON THE WATER is the film with which Yi Zhao graduated from AKV St. Joost in Breda. In this short poetic animation film, life is a long journey in a rowing boat,
sometimes in quiet drift, sometimes in perilous storm. It is the same for everyone: you are born out of the water and it will be the place where you end up too.
During the Playgrounds Festival (Tilburg) in October the film already won "Best National student short" award.
In VICTORY the dancer is fighting with her eternal enemy of mankind, the Gravity. The film is a co-production of Guusje Kaayk and Conny Janssen danst.
The film was already screened in the competition 'Audience Award Dutch Animation' during the Holland Animation Film Festival in November (Utrecht).

OCTOBER
DISTRIBUTION NEWS
As of 1 October the NIAf starts with the distribution of the film/performance REIS DOOR DE STAD (CITY TRIP), a project by Gerben Agterberg,
Jasper Bos, Emma Hazenak and Daniel Oliveira Prins.
REIS DOOR DE STAD (CITY TRIP) ian animation made by eleven animators who worked in an unique way on this project: in a relay race. The music track was composed and
recorded by Convoi Exceptional, and later divided in eleven parts. Each part was given to an animator.
The first animator made an animation of thirty seconds, timed on her piece of the soundtrack. The last frame of this first part, was given to the
next animator who used this frame and the following piece of the soundtrack to make the next part of the animation. All the animators have
inspired themselves on the work of other participants and the theme 'City Trip'.
The project can also be 'screened' as a live-performance. From a van the animation film is projected on the wall of that location.
Meanwhile Convoi Exceptional plays the soundtrack live, which gives an interaction between the musicians and the animation film.
At the end of the performance, the 'City Trip' group travels on to the next location, to repeat the same activity.
Meanwhile the NIAf also started the distribution for the UltraKort film DIRKJAN HEERST! by Wilfred Ottenheijm and Remco Polman (Mooves) and for
the graduation film ZALIGER by Nina Gantz (AKV St. Joost Breda).
