The Annecy 2011 festival (France, 6-11 June) will show the programme "America and the Oscars". In one of those programmes the film ANNA & BELLA by Borge Ring will be screened.

During the Festival "Le Septième Art dans le Septième" in Paris (France, 7-10 June) several Dutch animated short films will be screened. The titles are: "The Killing of an Egg" and "3 Misses" by Paul Driessen, "Father and Daughter" and "The Monk and the Fish" by Michael Dudok de Wit and "Pas a Deux" by Gerrit van Dijk and Monique Renault.

During the Sofia Design Week (Bulgary, 8-26 June) 3 films by Evert de Beijer will be screened in the animation programme "Masters of Animation": HOTEL NARCIS, CAR CRAZE and GET REAL!. This screening will take place on 15 June in the Central Mineral Bathhouse facade. For more information see: the website.

DISTRIBUTION NEWS
As of 1 March the NIAf started the distribution of the music video BORN WITH A BOTHERED MIND by Happy Camper, made by Job, Joris & Marieke. Main character in the music video is Manfred, de friendly yeti. His holiday leads to a series of awkward camping moments, but that doesn't spoil the fun, because Manfred is a Happy Camper.
The music video has already been selected for the Pictoplasma festival in Berlin in April.

AWARDS
The graduation film ON THE WATER by Yi Zhao has won the "Best Student Animation' award during the Stoke Your Fires Festival in the UK.

SPECIAL SCREENINGS
In March Theaters Tilburg celebrates its 50th anniversary. To celebrate this, an open day is organized on Sundauy 13 March. In Filmfoyer Tilburg there will alo be screened a film program for young and old. In that programma the films DE ZWEMLES by Danny de Vent and SHIPWRECKED by Frodo Kuipers will be screened.

In March the "Best of KLIK!" program will go on tour through Russia. The films PIK by Erik van Schaaik and THINGS YOU'D BETTER NOT MIX UP by Joost Lieuwma will be part of this program.
The tour will visit the following cities: Yaroslavl (14-15 March), Perm (17 March), Moskou (18 March) en Vladivostok (20-21 March).

The Monstra Festival in Lisboa (Portugal, 21-27 March) will screen several programs in the frame of a Dutch retrospective.There will be a program with films by Michael Dudok de Wit, a program with films from different Dutch studio's, a program with films of the NIAf and many more.

AWARDS
At the Berlinale 2011 the film GET REAL! by Evert de Beijer has been awarded a special mention in the Generation 14plus competition by the youth jury.
The juryrapport: "Aggressive, innovative and explosive. An attack on the senses. A film constantly walking the tightrope between deviance and brilliance. Hectic sequences of colour and plot and a wealth of detail. We have never seen a film like this before".
